Dear [Local MP],
High fuel prices are literally forcing people off the roads. They have become a poverty trap, crushing businesses and families - and they are not working for the Government either.
Will you sign the Petrol Promise, and stand up for working people? We are asking the Government to:
1) Pressure oil companies to reduce prices QUICKLY at the pumps.
2) Launch a tough investigation by the Office of Fair Trading, to see why market oil prices are so astronomically high.
3) Take action on petrol and diesel taxes, to FREEZE fuel duty until at least 2015.
We need EVERYONE to do their bit, to help cut fuel prices for millions of Brits.
Please do write back to me, and let me know your views.
Yours sincerely,
[Your Name]

I feel as if I have been ripped off for the past decade.

Because I live in a rural area of Dorset where the public transport is abysmal and I absolutely rely on my car to attend hospital appointments, go shopping - when I want to or at the drop of a hat and, more importantly, get that shopping home to my door, particularly if the item(s) are large or heavy. I also rely on my car to visit friends and relatives and regularly collect my grandchildren from school when the need arises. How can we continue to live when prices, especially for the motorist continually rise way above the rate of inflation, whilst our incomes rarely achieve parity with it?

I have always felt that these companies were ripping off the motorist and I feel the same about the energy companies etc. There was meant to be competition but i see none.
